Content Gating (Email Capture)¶
Content gating is an optional feature that allows your Rose chat agent to capture visitor emails by offering valuable content (case studies, guides, comparisons) in exchange.
Overview¶
When enabled, the AI agent will:
- Detect interest signals - When visitors mention their industry, ask about ROI, seek customer references, or compare competitors
- Offer relevant content - Suggest a case study, guide, or comparison that matches their interest
- Capture email - If the visitor accepts, politely ask for their email to send the content
Example Conversation¶
Visitor: "We're a healthcare company looking to improve our customer support"
Agent: "Great question! For healthcare companies, reducing response times
while maintaining compliance is crucial.
💌 I have a case study showing how a healthcare provider reduced their
support response time by 60% while staying HIPAA compliant. Would you
like me to send it to you?"
Visitor: "Yes, that sounds useful"
Agent: "Perfect! What's the best email address to send it to?"
Visitor: "john@healthcorp.com"
Agent: "Thanks! I'll send the case study to john@healthcorp.com shortly.
In the meantime, do you have any other questions about our solution?"
How to Enable¶
Contact your Rose account manager to enable content gating for your site.
Content Resources¶
For content gating to work effectively, you should provide Rose with:
- Case studies - Industry-specific success stories
- Guides - How-to content relevant to your product
- Comparisons - Competitor comparison documents
- ROI calculators - Tools that demonstrate value
Your account manager will help configure which content to offer based on visitor context.
Behavior Rules¶
The content gating feature includes smart safeguards:
| Rule | Behavior |
|---|---|
| One offer per conversation | Won't repeatedly ask after an offer is made |
| Cooldown period | Waits several turns before offering again if declined |
| Demo priority | Demo offers take priority over content offers |
| Natural flow | Always answers the visitor's question first |
Analytics¶
When content gating is enabled, you'll see additional metrics in your Rose dashboard:
- Content offers made - How often the agent offers content
- Content accepted - How often visitors accept the offer
- Emails captured - Successful email captures via content gating
- Content conversion rate - Percentage of offers that result in email capture
FAQ¶
Will the agent be pushy about capturing emails?¶
No. The agent is designed to be helpful first. It will:
- Always answer the visitor's question before making an offer
- Accept "no" gracefully and continue the conversation
- Not repeatedly ask if the visitor declines
Can I customize what content is offered?¶
Yes. Work with your account manager to configure:
- Which case studies/guides to offer
- What industries or topics trigger which content
- Custom offer language for your brand voice
How does this work with demo offers?¶
Demo offers take priority. If the visitor shows strong buying intent, the agent will offer a demo instead of content. Content gating is designed for earlier-stage visitors who are still researching.
